The autumn term is flying by and Year 3 have had a superb start to the year! I have been so impressed by how well
the children have settled into the junior school and embraced a new challenge.
We started out the year by learning about the Stone Age and how life changed from the Palaeolithic to Neolithic
period. We studied a range of artefacts and made connections to our learning when debating what their intended
use would have been. The children researched a Neolithic Settlement – Skara Brae – and published a brochure
persuading people to visit this historic site!
In our RE lessons, we have learnt about the Christian belief of God as the Trinity. The belief being that God is the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit. To represent this understanding, the children created their own stained-glass window
with a dove at the centre – symbolic of the Holy Spirit.
