Notes from the class

What we have been learning...

Welcome to 4M’s web page!

What a wonderful first half term we have had in Year 4, the children have begun the year with enthusiasm and eagerness which is fantastic!

This half term we have been learning about the Anglo Saxons. The children have written excellent persuasive battle cry speeches as Harold Godwinson; I was particularly impressed by their presentation skills once they had finished.

We have learnt about ‘States of Matter’ in Science where the children loved taking part in practical investigations involving freezing and melting. As well as this, in D&T we designed and made bread rolls, a first for all the Year 4 team with 60 children!

During PE lessons the children have built their fitness by doing weekly circuits and of course on the daily mile too.

This half term we will be learning about ‘Sustainability’ and how to look after our planet. The children are already telling me lots of things they already know and asking all sorts of questions so I can’t wait to get started with our Geography unit soon.

I am really looking forward to the build up to Christmas where Year 4 present their Nativity, make their class Christmas hoop to be hung in the hall and learn why the birth of Jesus is so important to Christians around the world.

I am looking forward to a fun filled few weeks.
