Hello, my name is Mr Archer and I am a Year 5 teacher.

This is my 10th year of teaching. I have taught Years 2, 4, 5 and 6 in my time and I have to say Year 5 is my favourite. Before becoming a teacher, I work in the catering industry and managed a few pub around London, Southend and Chelmsford. In my spare time I like to do a little bit of running (emphasise on a little) and walk my dog, Jasper.

I am excited to be teaching Year 5 this year. In History we are going through both World wars, the history of medicine and taking a trip to China to look at the Shang dynasty. We are melting and freezing materials in science and investigate the depths of Space. Our writing in English will compliment all these topics. There are some great things to learn!

In year 5 we have PE days every Wednesday.

Homework is set on a Thursday and due in the following Wednesday, we ask that you spend 50 minutes a week completing homework. If you have any issues with homework please speak to myself and I will help.
